Biography
Shane Murphy is a real estate and zoning lawyer who focuses on real estate development and transactions in Virginia as a principal in the firm’s Land Use and Zoning Group in Tysons. His practice also extends to general civil litigation, local government law, administrative law, and eminent domain.
Shane has secured complex land use approvals for clients throughout Virginia, while also successfully representing clients before trial and appellate courts. He has also played a key role in the establishment or relocation of corporate headquarters for many of Northern Virginia’s most successful businesses. His clients have included Fortune 500 companies, homebuilders, hospitals, retailers, public utilities, and institutional users.
In addition to his focus on real estate development and transactions, Shane’s practice also includes general civil litigation, local government law, administrative law, and eminent domain. Shane often draws on his extensive background in public policy, having held key positions with elected officials at the local, state, and federal levels.
Most recently, Shane was a partner in the Tysons office of Reed Smith LLP.
