This #BlackHistoryMonth, we are pleased to highlight Reginald Smallwood, a lawyer in the firm’s Corporate & Securities Practice in Baltimore. Reginald shares thoughts on a moment in Black History that influenced his professional career and how he is observing this month.
“Black History Month is significant in that it highlights the many efforts and accomplishments of Black people that are often overlooked or forgotten. Also, Black History Month offers a time to reflect on the past so we can create a better future.
I plan to observe Black History with reflection. With so much Black trauma shown in the media, I find solace in remembering/learning about the positive accomplishments of Black people. And I use that pride as fuel to keep me going."
