While requests to return an abducted child using the Hague Abduction Convention were always intended to be summary proceedings, expedited by courts, and with the goal of achieving a child’s prompt return to their habitual residence, the interplay between this international treaty and other complex laws and procedures has created a more complicated and nuanced legal case. Join the New York State Bar Association's International Section’s Family Law Committee as it hosts a meeting to explore a range of legal issues that create hazards for lawyers practicing in this area of the law.
