Jack McCann will present on antitrust issues facing electric cooperatives during the Virginia, Maryland Delaware Association of Electric Cooperatives' (VMDEAC) legal seminar in Richmond. Electric co-ops are nonprofits that act as a competitive check on for-profit electric companies in rural areas and are generally procompetitive, according to Jack. But co-ops often have for-profit arms that provide ancillary services (such as telecommunications), which is where potential antitrust issues can arise.
