Miles & Stockbridge Helps TransGender Education Association with Intellectual Property Needs

Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce a successful filing with the United States Patent and Trademark Office for service marks for the TransGender Education Association of Greater Washington (TGEA). Ajay Jagtiani, a patent lawyer and co-leader of the firm’s Intellectual Property Practice Group, handled the filing on a pro bono basis.

"These service marks will help differentiate the association from other organizations with similar names, which is increasingly important as our organization grows and serves more members of the transgender and gender non-binary communities", said Reverend Emma Chattin, executive director of TGEA. "We are very grateful to Miles Stockbridge and to Ajay for their assistance. This provides TGEA with a level of organizational protection of intellectual property that we otherwise could not have afforded."
