In its recent opinion in Ward v. Lassiter, the Court of Special Appeals of Maryland shed light on how the court handles settlement agreements where the parties agree to settle, but cannot come to an agreement on the terms or release of the settlement. This issue frequently arises in negotiating releases, with little guidance on settlement in this respect available from appellate courts in Maryland or elsewhere.
