Rachel McGuckian, a principal in the firm's Rockville, Maryland office, will be speaking at an Open Access Session titled "Considerations for Lawyers When Accepting a Board or Officer Position with a Client" at the 2020 International Bar Association Virtually Together Conference. The session presented by the IBA Professional Ethics Committee and is free to attend.
Program Description:
This session complements and develops the session in Seoul “Two souls in my breast: the role of law firm partners as chief counsel in client companies” and focuses on the professional and ethical considerations for lawyers when accepting, and tensions that occur when, the lawyer accepts appointments on their client’s board of directors, advisory board or as an officer, such as a data officer or compliance officer.
Participants will also have access to a virtual Networking Hub at the end of this session for attendees to join and video chat with other participants. Delegates can join and move around the tables to interact with multiple people in one networking session. A link to access the Networking Hub will be provided at the end of the session.
