STEP Movie Screening and Networking Reception

On May 10 at the Charles Theatre, the Miles & Stockbridge Women’s Network will host a screening of STEP, a 2017 documentary that chronicles the struggles and triumphs of three members of the step team at the Baltimore Leadership School for Young Women (BLSYW). We often hear only about the challenges in our city, but this movie tells an uplifting story—much like Girl Rising (screened by the Women’s Network in 2017), STEP showcases the strength of young women living in a challenging world.
STEP has won numerous prestigious awards, including the Inspirational Filmmaking Award at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival and the NAACP Image Award. Members of the school administration and students will attend our event, providing opening remarks and a brief performance.
This will be an evening to network while sharing support for our local community and for its young women; we hope you will join us!
