Program Description:
Since Donald Trump became President of the United States, there have been rapid and unprecedented changes in energy and environmental policy and regulation and the practice of law in these areas. This panel covers current trends in a broad cross section of energy and environmental law topics, with a focus on trends since the administration change. Panel topics will include an overview of the Trump effect on environmental law as well as changes within the EPA and DOJ litigation strategy and impacts on the regulated community related to regulatory, enforcement, and permitting practices and policy initiatives. Speakers will also share information about the future of renewable energy and the transformation of the electric utility into a utility of the future and the electric grid, including the smart grid, distributed (customer-owned) electricity generation, electric vehicles, and electricity storage, and microgrids.
