Environmental Regulatory Compliance

Environmental, health and safety regulations can be difficult to navigate—even for the most sophisticated businesses.

Because we invest the time to understand our clients’ infrastructure and anticipate how these regulations may impact their operations, we know the actions our clients can take and the policies and procedures they can implement, to enhance corporate compliance and reduce the potential for enforcement actions from federal, state and local regulatory agencies. If an enforcement action is initiated, our lawyers can vigorously defend our clients’ interests with the goal of achieving practical, prompt and often innovative resolution of the issue.

We assist clients with site inspections and information requests; multifacility compliance and audit programs; voluntary disclosures; permitting and approvals for water discharges, air emissions and solid/hazardous waste storage, treatment and disposal; release reporting; environmental marketing claims; and hazard communication and “right-to-know” reporting.

Our lawyers also participate as affiliate members of the National Association for Environmental Management (NAEM), which identifies and promotes “best management practices” of corporate environment, health, safety and sustainability management. NAEM’s membership comprises representatives from more than 800 U.S. and multinational companies, including the majority of America’s Fortune 500 companies.
