Black History Month Spotlight: Ariana DeJan-Lenoir

This Black History Month, we are pleased to highlight Ariana DeJan-Lenoir, a litigation associate in our Baltimore office. Ariana, who says attending Morgan State University as an undergraduate help deepen her understanding of the African diaspora, shares her family’s Black history tradition.
“Black History Month is a time to celebrate and honor the richness of our culture and history. It provides an opportunity to reflect on the journeys of those who came before us — individuals who broke barriers and paved the way for greater access and a brighter future.
“My great-uncle, Alfred Steward Barclay, was a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen during World War II. He was killed in service to his country in February 1945. During Black History Month, my family often reflects on my great-uncle’s legacy and ultimate sacrifice. And it has become a tradition in my family for each child to learn more about his life and the celebrated history of the Tuskegee Airmen.”
