During the past year, Virginia’s construction industry saw the General Assembly enact a new wave of employment legislation and Virginia courts reiterate the old principle that courts enforce construction contracts as written. Sophisticated general contractors should continue to evaluate and update their contracts and business practices to provide adequate protection and risk management.
