Julie Levi, a lawyer in the firm’s Banking & Finance practice group, presented a breakout session at the 27th annual immersion18 by Trellance conference, a conference designed around helping credit unions compete and thrive. Her presentation was titled “Compliance: Who’s Responsible?”

Program Description:

Who is responsible for compliance? If the current answer within your company isn’t “everyone in my organization,” then this session is for you. Every financial institution, no matter what size, has a responsibility to develop, maintain and implement an effective compliance program and many will at some point have their compliance program called into question by their regulator, an examiner or potential litigant. In this session we will explore some of the key do’s and don’ts when it comes to building and maintaining an effective compliance program and how compliance risk is closely tied with reputational risk. We will also discuss the alphabet soup of regulations that credit unions need to be aware of to properly navigate today’s regulatory environment.
