Please join us for the 22nd Annual Women’s Symposium, presented by the Women’s Network of Miles & Stockbridge. In celebration of Women’s History Month and this year’s theme, “Leading the Change: Women Shaping a Sustainable Future,” we are delighted to feature a conversation with ultramarathon open-water swimmer and Baltimore-based artist Katie Pumphrey.
This event will bring together a dynamic group of women uplifting women, providing an opportunity to forge new connections, share inspiring ideas and engage in meaningful discussions. Enjoy hors d’oeuvres and cocktails overlooking Baltimore’s Inner Harbor, followed by an inspiring conversation with our featured speaker.
In support of the Baltimore Inner Harbor's decades-long clean-up efforts, Katie Pumphrey became the first person to complete the 24-mile swim from the Chesapeake Bay Bridge to the Inner Harbor in 2024. She continues to be involved in these efforts, recently founding the nonprofit Baltimore Open Water Swimmers (BOWS).
Katie's paintings and sculptures have been exhibited in galleries across the United States. Her work as an artist is deeply connected to her experiences as an athlete, as is her community outreach and environmental advocacy.
