Biography

Marc W. Butler is a registered patent agent whose experience rests in drafting and prosecuting patent applications before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

He is also well-versed in providing extensive research on patent-related issues for legal opinions, infringement analysis, validity searches and litigation preparation. Marc focuses his practice in the mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, bio-tech and business method technical arts.

A patent agent since 2001, Marc maintains particular knowledge in obtaining and prosecuting patent applications for large U.S. and internationally based clients. This has included obtaining and enforcing patents for advancing technologies in electronics, semiconductors, LCD and electroluminescent displays, medical devices, radiation dosimeters, retro-reflective markers, chemical processing techniques, material treatment processes, automotive assemblies, products, designs and regenerative processes, automotive scan tools, hydroforming, heat exchangers, motion and position sensing, nanotechnology, ballistics, and military and weapons systems.

Marc has also been tapped to facilitate the development and implementation of programs for clientele to manage and protect their intellectual property assets.

Marc is a former patent examiner with more than seven years of experience at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. As an examiner, he reviewed and analyzed patent applications to assess compliance with legal statutes and rules. The technical fields Marc examined include metal manufacturing methods, assembly operations and fabrication procedures with computer control implementation.

Marc is a registered patent agent and restricts his practice to prosecution matters before the USPTO.
