Matthew D. Klaiber

Matthew D. Klaiber advises clients on a broad range of business-related matters at all stages of the business lifecycle, focusing particularly on mergers, acquisitions and other corporate transactions.

Over the last several years, Matt has worked with clients on a variety of public and private mergers, stock and asset acquisitions and dispositions, corporate restructurings and other commercial and business-related transactions.

In addition to his M&A experience, Matt routinely counsels clients on the structuring and formation of new business ventures; prepares and reviews various contracts (e.g., joint venture, financing, buy-sell, employment/consulting, executive and management, non-compete, subcontractor/teaming); advises businesses on operational, management and corporate governance issues; and provides general legal counsel to clients seeking to grow their businesses.

Matt received his B.A. degree, with honors, from The Johns Hopkins University and his J.D. degree, cum laude, from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was the Executive Articles Editor for The Maryland Law Review.

From 2011 to 2021, Matt was named as a Super Lawyers® “Rising Star” in the area of Mergers and Acquisitions. Matt was also selected as one of the Baltimore Business Journal’s “40 Under 40” in 2014 and was chosen as an Emerging Leader in mergers and acquisitions by The M&A Advisor in 2016.
