Miles & Stockbridge’s Labor & Employment Practice Earns 2024 Maryland Ranking By Chambers

Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that Chambers and Partners USA, a go-to guide in the legal industry, has once again ranked the Labor & Employment Practice Group at Miles & Stockbridge on its list of leading law firms nationwide. In addition to ranking Miles & Stockbridge in Band 2 of Maryland firms, five of our lawyers are ranked for their work with employers: Kathleen Pontone, Suzzanne W. Decker, Stephanie K. Kathie Pontone, Principal

Kathie was again recognized in Band 1 for having a wide-ranging practice that includes advising employers on wage and hour, discrimination and other contentious matters. One interviewee called her in-depth knowledge and experience as “priceless,” adding “you know when you're working with her you are getting the very best counsel to be offered." Another interviewee described Kathie as “attentive, proactive” and giving “timely, excellent advice.”

Suzzanne Decker, Principal

Suzzanne, who is a past practice group leader and a current board member of the firm, is in Band 2 and “noted for her skillful handling of a wide array of employment disputes.” She was also sought out to provide compliance and litigation avoidance counsel. An interviewee praised her “very strong reputation.”

Stephanie Baron, Principal and Practice Co-Leader

Steph regularly handles a wide variety of diverse employment matters and was also recognized for her work advising on “student misconduct and discrimination claims.” One interviewee said Steph was great to work with as well as “approachable and knowledgeable.” Another said Steph is “very responsive and a great partner resource for us.”

Kristy Eriksson, Principal and Practice Co-Leader

Kristy was recognized for being “well versed in assisting employers with employment investigations and providing representation in claims relating to issues such as discrimination, retaliation and harassment, among others.” An interviewee said she is “wonderful to work with and very knowledgeable.”

Steve Frenkil, Principal

Steve is “especially well known for his representation of employers in the higher education sector. He handles complex disputes as well as providing ongoing counsel on employment issues.” An interviewee praised Steve for being “an excellent partner. We’re very happy with his representation.”
