Congratulations to Stephanie K. Baron, a principal and labor and employment lawyer in the firm’s Baltimore office, on her recognition as one of Maryland’s Top 100 Women by The Daily Record.

“Stephanie is a high-achiever who not only has pursued and attained one career milestone after another, she also invests considerable energy and dedication in helping others excel,” said Nancy W. Greene, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Miles & Stockbridge.

Baron advises and represents businesses in all aspects of labor and employment law and represents educational institutions in disputes with students and faculty. She has represented clients in both federal and state courts and in front of numerous government agencies.

In the last year, as part of the firm’s cross-disciplinary Coronavirus Task Force, she has provided guidance and resources to help employers understand their obligations under new federal and state laws related to COVID-19.

Baron’s many leadership roles at Miles & Stockbridge include chairing the Recruiting Committee, an intensive role that includes interviewing candidates as well as outreach to area law schools. She is a founder and co-chair of TheTribe@Miles, an internal network of Jewish attorneys and colleagues, as well as a member of the firm’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee. She was a co-chair of the firm’s Women’s Network for six years.

Since 2003, Baron has been deeply involved with The Associated Jewish Federation of Baltimore, leading many committees for the organization. In 2016, she joined the board of the Pearlstone Center, an agency of The Associated that operates a retreat center and farm in Baltimore County that offers hands-on experiential outdoor education.

Baron has served since 2012 on the executive committee for the Lawyers' Campaign for the CollegeBound Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to increasing the number of Baltimore City students who attend and graduate from college by offering academic and financial support.

She also regularly provides pro bono counsel on employment law issues to Baltimore-area nonprofits, including the Pearlstone Center and the Ulman Cancer Fund for Young Adults.

Top 100 Women honorees were chosen by an outside panel of business leaders based on professional accomplishment, community involvement and commitment to mentoring. Winners were recognized in an online awards ceremony and featured in a special section of The Daily Record. To read Baron’s Top 100 Women profile, click here. (Log-in may be required.)
