Miles & Stockbridge Government Contracts attorneys Pete Dungan, Al Wurglitz and Roger Abbott advised Broadcom Inc. (NASDAQ: AVGO) on government contracts matters relating to Broadcom’s $61 billion cash and stock acquisition of VMware, Inc. (NYSE: VMW), which was announced on May 26, 2022.  Broadcom will assume $8 billion of VMware net debt.  The deal is subject to receipt of regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions. Miles & Stockbridge attorneys worked alongside attorneys from Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen and Katz and O’Melveny & Myers, who served as deal counsel for Broadcom. Gibson Dunn & Crutcher served as legal counsel for VMware.
