Holly Drumheller Butler, Anthony Cavanaugh and Kelly Powers Honored Among Irish Legal 100
Miles & Stockbridge is pleased to announce that Holly Drumheller Butler, Anthony Cavanaugh and Kelly Powers have been named to the Irish Legal 100, an annual compilation of the most distinguished legal professionals in the United States who share a common bond: pride in their Irish roots.
Drumheller Butler, who was also recognized with the award in 2020, serves as co-chair of the firm’s white collar, fraud and government investigations practice. She has substantial trial experience, having tried cases in various federal and state courts, as well as arbitration proceedings, and brings broad experience to bear in investigations and litigation. Additionally, she serves as co-chair of the Miles & Stockbridge Women’s Network, an affinity group founded to promote leadership, development and mentoring among our women lawyers and to bring them together with other professional women in the community.
Cavanaugh is an experienced litigator and trial lawyer with a focus on complex commercial disputes in real estate and hospitality. He is a “go to” lawyer for disputes involving real estate and hotel assets and helps evaluate risks when buying and selling real estate, including hotels, or when entering into management or franchise agreements. Although most of Cavanaugh’s work is concentrated in the Washington, D.C. metro area and around the mid-Atlantic region, he has litigated disputes across the country.
Powers co-leads the firm’s litigation practice and focuses her work on family law and private client matters: high-net-worth divorce work, high-conflict custody work, international child abduction work, and federal and state family law appellate work. Power’s divorce practice focuses on cases involving the valuation and division of complex business and other family assets. Her child-related practice focuses on international and interstate child abduction cases, jurisdictional disputes and domestic violence matters. Powers is also a qualified solicitor in England and Wales.
Joining this year’s recipients in this honor are Miles & Stockbridge Principals Stephen J. Cullen, head of the firm’s Family Law & Private Clients Group, and John E. McCann, Jr., a principal and litigator with the firm, who were first honored in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
Founded in 2008 by the Irish Voice newspaper in New York, the Irish Legal 100 list includes attorneys, legal scholars and members of the judiciary who have distinguished themselves in their fields of endeavor. Past honorees include United States Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts, Justice Anthony Kennedy, Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley and Georgetown Law Dean William Treanor. Honorees were celebrated at a reception held at the residence of the Irish Ambassador to the United States Daniel Mulhall and will be recognized in a special edition of the Irish Voice.
