Biography

William M. Krulak, Jr. is a member of the Litigation group.

Bill provides litigation services for a wide variety of matters arising out of commercial and business disputes. He has experience with complex commercial litigation and counsels clients across a broad spectrum of issues.

Bill is an experienced litigator at both the trial and appellate levels. In addition, he has experience in representing clients in various forms of alternative dispute resolution, including private mediation and commercial arbitration before the American Arbitration Association. Since joining the firm, Bill has developed his practice to provide litigation support for the firm’s transactional and corporate practices. As a result, he works closely with and draws from the expertise of the firm’s highly qualified business lawyers in handling the litigation needs of the firm’s clients. Through this interaction, he provides a comprehensive approach to litigation that goes beyond the narrow focus of the courtroom to see the bigger picture of the overall business needs and goals of his clients.

Bill strives to provide highly responsive and cutting-edge, yet cost-effective, trial and litigation services in a wide variety of matters. He recognizes that business litigation often is a necessary evil.  Mindful of that, he works hard to apply the experience and resources of the firm to gain every legitimate advantage at all stages of litigation, including at early phases, to create opportunities to capitalize on those advantages through negotiated settlements or by proceeding to trial where well-prepared cases can be presented effectively.

One example of Bill’s work involves a refinement of Maryland law regarding the enforceability of liquidated damages provisions in commercial contracts in Willard Packaging Co., Inc. v. Javier169 Md.App. 109 (2006).
