Biography

Jim Sullivan is a seasoned litigator who handles complex divorce, child custody, property division and other family law matters, providing advice and support tailored to each client’s unique situation. 

He regularly counsels on high-net-worth divorce work, high-conflict custody disputes and international child abduction cases, along with federal and state private client appellate work.

Jim also has extensive experience representing individuals and business entities in a wide variety of real estate and commercial litigation matters in the District of Columbia and Maryland.

Prior to joining Miles & Stockbridge, Jim was an associate at Sullivan & Talbott, where he gained extensive trial and appellate experience in personal injury insurance defense. He also served as a law clerk to Judge Irma S. Raker at the Maryland Court of Appeals (now Supreme Court of Maryland) and Montgomery County Circuit Court.
