Biography

Veronica Jackson is a seasoned trial lawyer and trusted advisor whose practice blends employment law with cybersecurity and privacy.

She defends employers in a broad range of litigation matters, advises on all aspects of employer-employee relations and counsels clients through data breach and cybersecurity incident responses.

Veronica brings substantial trial experience to every matter she handles. She has tried employment cases to verdict in multiple jurisdictions, including securing a defense verdict after a week-long jury trial in Connecticut state court, defeating claims of discrimination and retaliation. She has represented employers in both state and federal courts across numerous jurisdictions and at all stages of litigation, from early motion practice and discovery through trial and appeal. Her litigation experience spans a wide range of employment disputes, including discrimination and sexual harassment claims, leave issues, retaliation and wrongful discharge.

In addition to employment litigation, Veronica advises her clients on a variety of employment law matters, from noncompete agreements and workplace policies to employee training and internal investigations. She regularly represents clients in resolving OSHA citations and investigations following serious workplace injuries and fatalities, and advises employers on OSHA compliance obligations more broadly.

Veronica also counsels clients through data breach and cyber incident response, including any necessary data breach notification requirements. She provides legal advice regarding preventive efforts and legal compliance related to privacy and data security, including under laws such as GDPR, FERPA and CCPA. Veronica is a Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/US) by the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

She also is an AI Governance Professional (AIGP), a credential conferred by the IAPP that demonstrates competency in responsible AI governance. She helps organizations develop, deploy and manage AI systems responsibly and in line with emerging laws and policies. Veronica guides clients through the rapidly evolving landscape of AI-related employment and privacy compliance issues, such as AI-driven hiring tools, automated decision making and workplace monitoring technologies, helping employers mitigate risk while leveraging innovative technologies.

Veronica has been recognized by Best Lawyers in America® in the areas of Employment Law – Management and Privacy & Data Security; and by Best Lawyers in America® – Women in the Law in Employment Law – Management, Privacy & Data Security, and Litigation – Labor & Employment.
