Biography
Lauren Fleming emphasizes a client-specific approach in her government contracting and grants practice. She understands that a client’s background, motivations and goals matter when choosing a path, legal or otherwise, so she meets clients where they are and collaborates to achieve success.
Lauren assists clients, including prime contractors and subcontractors, as well as grant recipients and subrecipients, in all areas of government contracting at every level and in all phases of the business lifecycle. She counsels on regulatory, contracts and grants compliance; U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) government contracting programs, including program entry, teaming and joint venturing and challenges unique to small business mergers and acquisitions and to program graduation; and construction-focused projects, including those requiring compliance with Buy American and Build America, Buy America guidelines.
A former litigator, Lauren uses her knowledge, skills, and experience in prosecuting and defending bid protests before the U.S. Court of Federal Claims and Government Accountability Office as well as the SBA’s Office of Hearings and Appeals.
Lauren regularly volunteers in the community. She serves on the board of directors and as secretary for FreeState Justice and is on the Frederick County Chamber of Commerce's Generation Connect Committee. She is a graduate of Leadership Frederick County (LFC), an intensive nine-month program designed to teach and grow leaders through experiential learning and graduate-level leadership masterclasses. During her time in LFC, Lauren volunteered extensive hours assisting a local nonprofit organization with the foundational step of a long-term goal, building an emergency shelter.
