Biography

Sasha (Hodge-Wren) Johnson focuses her practice on labor and employment matters, white collar criminal defense and government and internal investigations.

She represents clients in both federal and state courts and before numerous state and federal agencies. Sasha’s unique practice stretches across the traditional borders usually observed in a full-service law firm and draws on her background as a public defender.

In her labor and employment practice, Sasha advises and defends businesses and nonprofits in matters involving discrimination and harassment, retaliation, family medical leave, wrongful discharge, wage and hour issues and reasonable accommodation claims. She regularly conducts complex internal investigations involving allegations of discrimination, harassment and retaliation.

Sasha also advises educational institutions on student and faculty disputes, often involving internal investigations and advice on litigation-avoidance strategies. She also counsels on union avoidance and other matters arising out of Section 7 of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA), as well as negotiates and enforces collective bargaining agreements on behalf of unionized employers.

In addition to her labor and employment practice, Sasha defends corporate clients and executives in government investigations by the U.S. Department of Justice, Offices of Inspectors General, and various U.S. Attorney’s Offices. She further defends and advises clients on both criminal and civil enforcement matters and compliance issues.

Before joining Miles & Stockbridge, Sasha was with Martin & Gitner PLLC and started her career at Howrey LLP. She also worked as an Assistant Public Defender with the Office of the Public Defender in Prince George’s County, Maryland.
